: Backend Developer

What you'll be doing
Join forces with our team to build and grow the Lumi News app for millions of Malaysians! ๐ช
- Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot Lumi News' backend application
- Design highly scalable, testable code
- Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems
- Participate in user growth initiatives
Requirements we're looking for
- At least 1 year of working experience in software engineering/web development in Ruby, Python, or NodeJS (applicants well-versed in other languages can also apply)
- A strong grasp of relational databases (we use PostgreSQL)
- Experience/exposure in building API using REST/GraphQL
- Cloud services such as AWS/GCP
- Automated testing and CI/CD
- Good experience in version control (Git)
- Good to have: Experience in background job processing
- Skills in web scraping is a plus!

Who you'll be working with
- You'll be working together with our senior backend developer and our tech team
- You'll also be working closely with our Product Manager and other team members in tasks that require a collaborative effort
